Find the Region Nearest You
Interested in raising a puppy who might one day become a guide dog? You're not alone! Many people want to know what's involved and how to find a group near you. On the home page of Guiding Eyes for the Blind , you can visit a map that shows the location of various GEB regions up and down the East Coast and find a regional contact near you.
Our region, the Catoctin Region, encompasses northern and northwestern Maryland and south-central Pennsylvania. If you live in this area, you may contact us by clicking here to request additional information!
Once you've made contact with one of our regional representatives, you will be invited to visit our bi-monthly puppy classes. After observing three to five classes, area coordinators will visit your home to talk further with you. The next step in the process is puppy-sitting. You will care for another raiser's GEB puppy for several days. This will give you a real taste of the joy and work involved in raising a guide dog puppy!
When you have filled out an application and been approved, you are placed on a waiting list to get a puppy. Finally . . . at long last you get that special telephone call telling you that we have a puppy for you . . . and your puppy raising experience begins!
